Several of the blogs in the Book Blast feature interviews with me, and I hope you enjoy them. It isn’t always easy (for example) to come up with a top ten favorite movies list – I came up with eleven! But this is my blog and I get to choose the topic, so today I’d like to give you a glimpse of the story behind Love Is Never Past Tense.

I have used the terms “dramatic romance”, “second chance romance”, and ”based on a true story” to describe Love Is Never Past Tense — all true, none the whole truth. The whole truth is in the book, but there’s always another story, isn’t there?

America is not my native country, and English is not my native language. I’ve always intended to write a book, but I never would have imagined this one until fate intervened. The Internet bridged continents and a second chance at love became a reality. In 2009, the original version of the story was published in Russia and the Ukraine, in my native Russian. I still have a few copies of this edition if your are interested.

America is not my birthplace, but it is my home. When I returned, I rounded up a crew of editors, well-wishers, and others to produce the English language edition. After that came ebook editions in the format of your choice.

Love Is Never Past Tense is the story of a lifetime—my lifetime–but is it true? Of course it is. It’s all true, especially the lies.
